[updated October 21, 2020] IT provides consultations and advice for any of Sheridan's infrastructure projects where there is a technology component. Whether it's a new building project or the renovation of an existing space, a design consultation will help to ensure that each project meets both Sheridan's base requirements for learning and administrative spaces and the unique requirements of each project.
We can help to assess and advise about:
Further, for all projects that are approved by either Facilities or IT, IT will coordinate the implementation and management of the technology components of your project, including writing RFPs, RFQs, and any project closing details.
Below are links to the latest versions of Suite design guides for rooms and communications infrastructure. These are guides only. Individual room assessments will be required before implementation.
Typically, new building projects or renovations of existing spaces are capital projects — determined and initiated by Sheridan's Corporate Planning Group and lead by Sheridan's Facility Services group. If your proposed project has both technology and physical infrastructure requirements, requests should be made through Facilities by completing the Ad Hoc Project Space Request Form (available via the Forms link on AccessSheridan). Again, Facilities will coordinate with IT to arrange assessments for your technology requirements.
Physical infrastructure requests include:
If you have a project that has technology requirements only (e.g. adding a network jack; moving a network printer) IT is happy to provide you with guidance and advice. We will discuss your needs and can provide assessments and quotes for services and equipment, as required. To book your consultation, call the IT Service Desk at ext. 2150 or send email to email@example.com.
