Sheridan OneDrive

Available to:

  • All Sheridan students who are active in a course or program; and,
  • All active Sheridan employees.

Requirements

Each Sheridan user is automatically assigned a Sheridan Office 365 online account with access to the OneDrive service and is provided 1TB of online storage space per user.

Features & Benefits:

  • Synchronize your Sheridan OneDrive files and folders between multiple work or school devices with the OneDrive sync client;
  • Restore your Sheridan OneDrive files and folders to any time within the last 30 days with the built-in Files Restore service;
  • Easily share and manage view and edit access to a file or folder in your Sheridan OneDrive with others at Sheridan.

Getting Started

To start using your Sheridan OneDrive Online service visit office.sheridancollege.ca and login with your Sheridan student or employee credentials to access your OneDrive Online account. How do I synchronize my work or school files between my computer and the Sheridan OneDrive cloud service?

To synchronize your files and folders between your computer with your Sheridan OneDrive cloud service you will need to install the OneDrive sync client for PC or Mac. To synchronize your files and folders between your mobile device with your Sheridan OneDrive cloud service you will need to install the OneDrive mobile application for Android, iOS or Windows phone. Who has access to view my Sheridan OneDrive files and folders?

You are the only person that has access to view your Sheridan work or school files until you choose to share permissions with others to view or edit your file or folder. Will I be required to move my files from my personal Sheridan G: Drive to the Sheridan OneDrive service?

No. You will not be required to move or migrate your files from your Sheridan G: Drive to the Sheridan OneDrive service. The Sheridan OneDrive service does share some common features to your Sheridan G: Drive but it has many more features and less constraints. Below are some of the advantages of using the Sheridan OneDrive service over your Sheridan G: Drive.

  • It provides up to 1 TB of online storage space versus the 300 MB of the Sheridan G: Drive;
  • It allows you to synchronize your files and folders across all your devices;
  • You can easily share view and edit access to your files or folders; and,
  • Automatic versioning of files allows you to manage and recover changes to your files.

Can I request a Sheridan OneDrive account for my group, team or department?

No. The Sheridan OneDrive service is meant for individual use and the files and folders that are stored on your OneDrive account are linked to your personal Sheridan account and credentials. Where are my Sheridan OneDrive files and folders stored?

Your Sheridan OneDrive files and folders are stored within a private Office 365 Microsoft cloud server that is licensed and administered by the Sheridan Information Technology department. A user's files and folders are stored in their own unique directory which can only be accessed by that user after they have logged into their Office 365 account with their Sheridan login credentials.
