[updated October 7, 2020] October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the theme that Sheridan IT would like to highlight this year is ‘Be Careful Where You Click’. Every week through the month of October we will offer up some handy tips centred around this theme to help make your computing experiences more secure.
While email attachments are a popular and convenient way to send documents, they are also a common source of viruses. Always exercise caution when opening attachments; especially attachments that you aren’t expecting.
If you want to learn more about cybersecurity, all Sheridan employees have access to comprehensive, online security awareness training offered through KnowBe4. Go to training.knowbe4.com and sign-in with your Sheridan email address to get started.
If you have questions or concerns about spotting bad attachments, or cybersecurity at Sheridan, contact the IT Service Desk at 905-845-9430 ext. 2150 or send email to email@example.com.
