Utilizing the Sheridan Email Subscription Centre

On July 1, 2014, CASL, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, came into effect. Its aim is to reduce the flow of unsolicited email/electronic messages or ‘spam’. One of the key requirements of the CASL legislation is that every commercial email message* (CEM) include a clear unsubscribe mechanism.

The Sheridan Email Subscription Centre is a tool that can be utilized by Sheridan employees to provide:

  1. A mechanism for CEM recipients to unsubscribe from mailings from a specific areas of the College (if the system you are using does not already provide this functionality)

  2. A mechanism for CEM recipients to manage their subscription settings for all electronic communications from Sheridan, including:
    1. the ability to pick and choose the topic areas they wish to receive communications for
    2. the ability to unsubscribe from all Sheridan communications
