Intranet Refresh Project

Project Overview

Sheridan Portal ProjectAccessSheridan is Sheridan's internal student and staff information web portal. This project will deliver a new portal environment to replace the legacy solution currently in place.

Presently, AccessSheridan is little more than a secured web page with a long list of links to multiple external systems. It offers little in the way of personalization and does not provide users with up-front content that is tailored to their needs/interests. Further, our current portal infrastructure is based on an old and deprecated software platform and many of the custom applications written for the environment have not been updated or maintained in many years.

The project team is looking to replace our legacy environment with a new solution that:

  • provides users with content and tools that are timely, appropriate and engaging
  • provides well thought out site structure and simple navigation that is meaningful, predictable and consistent
  • is highly personalized and customizable by the end user
  • provides integrations with external systems
  • is part of a pervasive single sign-on solution
  • Is accessible from a variety of devices
  • provides stakeholders the ability to manage content directly without IT support
