[October 28, 2021} Many Sheridan users are keen to upgrade their devices to run the latest operating systems (OS) from Microsoft and Apple – Windows 11 and macOS 12, Monterey. We ask that you hold off on upgrading your machine for now. Neither OS is formally supported at Sheridan at this time.
To avoid compatibility issues, stick to a Sheridan supported operating system:
If you’ve already upgraded your computer or acquired a new device with a new OS preinstalled, the IT Service Desk will do its best to support you—but please bear in mind your support options may be limited as testing of the new operating systems within the Sheridan environment is ongoing.
We have posted information pages for each OS where you can view the results* of our testing efforts to-date and see what works and what doesn’t. Currently, most apps and services are in ‘Being tested’ status, but these pages will be updated on an on-going basis as testing scenarios are completed.
