"Mobile Computing" Now Referred to as "Laptop Requirements"
Since its inception in the 1980s, Sheridan has had one of the largest and most advanced Mobile Computing programs in Canada, with thousands of students benefiting from the integration of laptop computers into their learning experience.
While students in many Sheridan programs are still enjoying the benefits of a technology-integrated curriculum, we are discontinuing the use of the term 'Mobile Computing' as it has evolved to take on different connotations for our users:
- it has become synonymous with mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets
- we offer a program called Honours Bachelor of Computer Science (Mobile Computing)
To alleviate confusion, 'Mobile Computing' will now simply be referred to as 'Laptop Requirements'. Hardware requirements for Sheridan programs can now be found on the Laptop Requirements page within the IT website.
