Automatic Transcription of Webex Recordings Now Available

[June 14, 2019] Sheridan employees can now automatically transcribe the audio of all Cisco Webex meetings that they record. The transcript displays when you play the recording. You can search for text in the transcript, verify what was said when, and jump to that spot in the recording.

Disabling/Enabling Automatic Transcription

Text transcription of Webex recordings is enabled for all users by default. To change your transcription options, see How to Disable/Enable Automatic Transcription of Webex Recordings.

Transcription Accuracy

The transcribed audio is fairly accurate but dependent on a number of factors:

Editing Transcripts

After your Webex recording with transcription has been processed, the transcription text will be displayed on the right-hand side of the viewing window and can be edited to correct any transcription errors.

Recording Processing Times

Please note that the processing time for a Webex recording with transcription can take up to 24 hours before it is viewable in your ‘My Recorded Meetings’ list.
