[June 9, 2014] On Sunday, June 22 IT staff will be installing ProfileUnity, a centralized user profile* management system that is used for managing physical and virtual Windows desktops. This tool handles various aspects of the user environment, including user profiles, security, application settings and more. For the curious techies amongst you, ProfileUnity will replace our current system, Microsoft Roaming Profiles.
* A user profile is a collection of settings that make your computer look and work the way you want it to.
This change affects any student who is accessing a Windows computer in Sheridan’s labs or Learning Commons.
This change also affects any staff member who uses a Windows-based desktop computer running the College’s disk image.
Prior to the upgrade to ProfileUnity you should export any favorites you have bookmarked in your web browser(s) as these will no longer be available following the upgrade.
