[August. 17, 2018] All students – even the most technology savvy – are strongly encouraged to attend a Laptop Readiness Session following new student and international student orientation events. These are important sessions where you will log into Sheridan's network with your laptop and access software required for your courses.
Although accessing our network and downloading software is usually straightforward, personal firewall settings and anti-virus software that might be installed on your computer can sometimes present challenges. Attending one of these sessions will ensure that you get the support you need so your laptop is ready for use on Sheridan's network right out of the gate.
If you have a smart phone, tablet or other wifi-enabled device, bring it with you. We can help you configure it for use on Sheridan's network as well.
Some sessions are conveniently scheduled to coincide with new student Orientation dates. Attend one of these scheduled sessions and you will have the flexibility to come in anytime during the scheduled time frame. Once you've completed your laptop set up, you can leave.
Please bring at least one form of photo ID (such as your Sheridan onecard or government issued ID such as Passport, Canadian Driver's License or Permanent Resident Card) along with your offer letter.
IT support staff will be available at International Student Orientation events to share their expertise.
