Extension Mobility

About Extension Mobility

Extension Mobility is a service that allows users to log into any College telephone* with their user ID and a pre-assigned PIN. Upon successful authentication, the telephone will automatically transform into the user’s telephone profile. Their telephone extension, features and permissions (e.g. long distance) will be presented on the phone.

* All desktop telephones are configured with the Extension Mobility service allowing users to run Extension Mobility on any desktop telephone at the college.

Features & Benefits

  • Allows users to roam between phones, taking their extension numbers and specific device settings with them.

This feature is ideal for those faculty and staff that travel between campuses and those who do not have an assigned desktop phone.

All employees are eligible.

Getting Started

Contact the IT Service Desk to create an extension mobility profile.

Instructions

After your your extension mobility profile has been created, follow the steps below:

  1. Press the Services/Settings button* on the desktop phone.
  2. Cursor down to the Extension Mobility option and press enter.
  3. Enter your user id (your network username) using the dial pad.
  4. Enter the temporary PIN# provided – change the PIN once you’ve logged in.
  5. Remember to log out when you no longer require the use of Extension Mobility.

* The college has a variety of desktop phone models. The Services/Settings button may appear as either a “Globe” or as a “Cog.”
