Troubleshooting Windows 8.1 Printing Issues

There have been cases where some users who upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 via the Windows store have been unable to print to Sheridan's Green print queue using the default settings after upgrading. The workaround solutions below should get you printing again.

Make sure all Windows 8.1 Updates are installed

Make sure you have installed all Windows 8.1 updates. Reboot your computer and install the Green print queue. If you have previously installed the Green print queue, delete it and then reinstall the queue. If you are still unable to print, try the workaround below.

Windows 8.1 Printing Workaround

If after installing all of the updates for Windows 8.1 you are still unable to print, try the following:

  1. Launch any application you want to print from and choose Print.

  2. From the Print dialogue box click the Properties… button

  3. Click the Resizing Options… button


  4. Select Fit to paper size and choose Letter (or the size of paper you are printing to) from the drop down menu. Click OK.

  5. Click OK to close the Printing Preferences window and return to the Print dialgoue box. Click OK to print your job.
