Laptop Readiness sessions are specifically tailored towards new Mobile Computing students who will be starting classes in September. At these short, but important sessions IT staff take students through the process of logging into Sheridan's network with their laptop and installing software required for their courses.

Laptop Encryption Coming This Fall

Laptop encryption was rolled out to a group of pilot users this summer, and the pilot is now nearing completion. IT will begin encrypting all Sheridan owned or leased Windows-based laptops beginning this fall.

Sheridan students and employees can take advantage of some great deals on software from OnTheHub. Users are entitled to purchase a single license for software from companies such as Microsoft and VMware at greatly discounted prices.

Office 2016 for Mac

Office 2016 Preview for Windows Users

32-bit versions of Microsoft Office 2016, Project 2016, and Visio 2016 for Windows are now available for employees to install from AccessSheridan.

Windows 10 Not Supported

Windows 10 for Admin Users Coming Fall 2017

Based on a review and discussion of the details and constraints around releasing Windows 10 to administrative (i.e. employee users), the IT User Experience Governance Group has unanimously voted to defer the roll out of Windows 10 until the September 2017 semester.
