IT Beefing Up Internet Security:
Malicious URL Blocking Begins March 1

Access Denied[Feb. 24, 2016] To protect the privacy and security of students and employees on campus, as well as Sheridan’s technology and information resources, IT will be deploying a security appliance that will block users from accessing websites that have been identified as being malicious. These are typically sites that are hosting malware/spyware or are associated with spam/phishing.

It’s important to note many of these sites may ‘appear’ to be harmless and may even present some value to you. However, malicious code can be executed or other compromising activities can be performed without your knowing when accessing links, downloading software, or filling out forms on one of these sites.

If you come across a website that is blocked, and you feel it has a legitimate business or educational purpose, please send email to itsecurity@sheridancollege.ca with the following information:
